In Southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Until 1215 PM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1207 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Independence, Chanute, Iola, Neodesha, Fredonia, Cherryvale, Caney, Humboldt, Yates Center, Sedan, La Harpe, Gas, Moran, Thayer, Altoona, Elk City, Buffalo, Tyro, Neosho Falls and Peru. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.

Verdigris River at Altoona affecting Wilson County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Verdigris River at Altoona. * WHEN...Until late tomorrow evening. * IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Flood waters begin to threaten outlining facilities of the city's water plant. Water Plant's clearwell may become flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 19.3 feet and rising. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.5 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 19.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away.
