In Southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.

In Southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Until 1215 PM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1207 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Independence, Chanute, Iola, Neodesha, Fredonia, Cherryvale, Caney, Humboldt, Yates Center, Sedan, La Harpe, Gas, Moran, Thayer, Altoona, Elk City, Buffalo, Tyro, Neosho Falls and Peru. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.

Neosho River at Iola affecting Allen County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River at Iola. * WHEN...From early this morning to tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, The gravel road below the low water dam on west side of river floods as well as agricultural fields. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 4:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 15.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.5 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away.
