Flood Watch issued April 27 at 8:18PM CDT until April 28 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Oklahoma, including the following counties, Atoka, Bryan, Carter, Cleveland, Coal, Garvin, Hughes, Jefferson, Johnston, Lincoln, Love, Marshall, McClain, Murray, Oklahoma, Payne, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Seminole and Stephens and northern Texas, including the following counties, Archer and Clay. * WHEN...Through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. East central Carter County in southern Oklahoma... Southeastern Murray County in southern Oklahoma... * Until 1145 PM CDT. * At 1054 PM CDT, a large and extremely dangerous tornado was located over Gene Autry, moving north at 35 mph. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW! HAZARD...Damaging tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes, businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete destruction is possible. * Locations impacted include... Sulphur, Springer, Dougherty, Gene Autry, and Lake Of The Arbuckles. To repeat, an extremely dangerous and potentially deadly tornado is on the ground. To protect your life, TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a storm shelter, safe room or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.

Flood Advisory issued April 27 at 10:14PM CDT until April 28 at 3:15AM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, southeast, and southern Oklahoma, including the following counties, in central Oklahoma, Cleveland, Lincoln, McClain and Pottawatomie. In east central Oklahoma, Pontotoc and Seminole. In southeast Oklahoma, Johnston and Marshall. In southern Oklahoma, Carter, Garvin, Love and Murray. * WHEN...Until 315 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1014 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen in the western portion of the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Southeastern Oklahoma City, southeastern Norman, Shawnee, Ardmore, Seminole, Tecumseh, Pauls Valley, Purcell, Sulphur, Chandler, Davis, Marietta, Lone Grove, Slaughterville, McLoud, Healdton, Stroud, Prague, Wynnewood and Lexington. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
