Flood Watch issued April 30 at 1:39PM CDT until May 1 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of northern Oklahoma, including the following counties, Garfield, Grant, Kay and Noble. * WHEN...From 9 PM CDT this evening through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Slow moving storms are expected to bring heavy rain overnight to areas of north central Oklahoma that have seen 2 to 6 inches of rainfall over the weekend. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Northern Alfalfa County in northwestern Oklahoma... * Until 115 AM CDT. * At 1008 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Medford, Wakita, Burlington, Amorita and Byron. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
